“Your Highness, Crown Prince Ye Hua is waiting at the entrance of the Fox Den and requests to see you,” Migu said to Bai Qian as he scratched his head in wonder.
“Ye Hua is here? Right now?” Bai Qian questioned. Migu nodded his head as Bai Qian walked past him to greet Ye Hua.
Ye Hua was standing at the entrance in his shiny black robe, His hair was just as shiny as his robe so it was difficult to tell where one ended and the other began. Bai Qian gave Ye Hua a smile at his unexpected visit.
“Qian Qian, I’m sorry that I came unannounced but I figured since we’re friends, formalities could be overlooked. Was it wrong of me to think that? ”Ye Hua’s voice was as soft and silky as usual.
Bai Qian smiled at Ye Hua. He was such a dear friend to her. “No, Ye Hua. You are welcome anytime, but what brings you here today?” She answered.
Ye Hua looked and pointed up at the beautiful, fall sky and replied, “I saw how beautiful the weather was today, so I thought we could have a picnic by the lovely lotus pond at Qing Qiu.” Ye Hua summoned a basket and a light blanket for the purpose of putting down on the bare ground, which produced a big smile across Qian Qian’s beautiful face. She linked arms with Ye Hua as they walked towards the lotus pond together.
Ye Hua laid out the blanket and opened the basket which happened to have all of Qian Qian’s favorite delicacies. She looked at the food selection and gave Ye Hua an appreciative look.
“How did you know these are my favorite things to eat?” she asked while giggling. Ye Hua just shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
“Of course a picnic is not a picnic without peach wine,” Ye Hua said, producing one of Zhe Yan’s bottles of peach wine. Qian Qian was delighted with joy and patted Ye Hua’s hand playfully.
They sat and talked about her time at Kunlun Mountain as one of Mo Yuan’s disciples. Qian Qian told him of all the times she’d caused trouble and chaos during her 70,000 years as a disciple. During the Ghost Wars, Qian Qian mentioned the loss of her senior and favored disciple Ninth. Tears came to her eyes, so Ye Hua handed her a handkerchief to wipe her tears. She told him about how her Shifu had taken the lightning bolts in her place for her accession to high immortal. Tears filled her eyes again as she looked off into the distance thinking about Mo Yuan.
Ye Hua waited and then complimented High God Mo Yuan for his selfless and courageous nature. Strangely, Ye Hua meant every word he said. Ye Hua was glad to know Qian Qian had not suffered the pain from the lightning bolts.
He then changed the subject and told Qian Qian about his third uncle Lian Song and his love-hate relationship with his ex-lover, Cheng Yu. Ye Hua explained how mischievous Cheng Yu was and told Qian Qian about the secret books she gave him when he was a child.
Ye Hua told Qian Qian about his childhood and the difficulties he’d experienced in his quest to become the perfect Crown Prince everyone expected him to be. This brought tears to Qian Qian’s eyes again as she reached out and caressed Ye Hua’s cheek tenderly. Ye Hua smiled and took her hand and kissed it in a gentlemanly way. Ye Hua was trying not to touch her but it was much more difficult for him than he had expected. Qian Qian stirred a strong passionate response from his body but he’d promised himself to take his time with her.
Ye Hua noticed Qian Qian’s love for listening to stories so he told her about the Mermaid War and his other battles. For some odd reason, Qian Qian listened to his stories of combat with great interest. Ye Hua remembered the day Qian Qian had attacked him and understood that she herself was a fierce warrior. Ye Hua complimented Qian Qian on her skillful attack which made her blush but she wasn’t able to hide her smile.
She took pride in her of the level of skill as a fighter. Qian Qian admitted that the Jade Purity fan felt like an extension of herself when in battle. She became one with the fan when in motion. The fan moved her as she moved the fan.
Qian Qian told Ye Hua that leading her own troops during the Ghost War was one of the most exciting things she’d ever done. Qian Qian got a glimmer in her eyes when she reminisced about her time in combat.
This excited Ye Hua even more. How could someone be so beautiful, kind and powerful at the same time? Ye Hua felt blessed to have met Qian Qian. She was the most intriguing and stunning person Ye Hua had ever come across in his 50,000 years of life.
Qian Qian asked about Ye Hua’s parents and was surprised to hear that he was not very close to them. Ye Hua had been separated at birth from his mother and raised by Heavenly Grandfather in the way Heavenly Grandfather deemed appropriate for his Imperial grandson, the future Heavenly Lord.
Bai Qian felt sorry for Ye Hua. He had grown up without love, nurturing, and friends. Ye Hua had always been alone without anyone by his side. She held his hand and said, “Ye Hua, you’ll never be alone again. You are my best friend and I will always stay beside you. I love you like a younger brother. I will protect you and unleash the Jade Purity Fan on anyone who does you wrong.” She made the motion with her empty hand as if to attack someone.
This made Ye Hua chuckle lightly but it also touched his heart deeply.
Ye Hua finally brought up his meeting with the Fox King, saying “Your father is an incredible man, Qian Qian.”
Bai Qian looked up at him and smiled, “I know. My father is the best father in all the realms and nine heavens. I love him and know he loves me best,” she snickered.
Ye Hua smiled and said, “Yes, he’s the kind of father I’d like to be when I have a child. Would you believe me if I told you, that he said he’d pretty much kill me and declare war on Heavenly Grandfather if you were unhappy in Celestial Heaven? Your father didn’t hesitate to tell us so. Your father is very brave.”
Qian Qian laughed and proudly bragged, “My father once fought the four beasts created by your father, Heavenly Father, and successfully brought back fungal grass when my fourth brother became ill in his youth. That’s how courageous my father is Ye Hua,” Qian Qian said while peeling a loquat.
Ye Hua made a scared face and said, “Now I’m even more afraid of your father.” Qian Qian burst out into hysterical laughter.
“Are you excited about us getting married, Ye Hua?” Qian Qian asked.
Ye Hua blushed slightly and smiled, “Very much so,” was his reply.
Qian Qian patted his leg and said, “Me too. Then you can go find the kind of love you felt for Si Yin and I will protect you with everything I have.”
Ye Hua didn’t correct her. He would show her that he was not homosexual instead of trying to convince her with words.
Ye Hua summoned a blank paper, brush and instructed Qian Qian to get into a comfortable position. She looked surprised but she also looked intrigued and did as Ye Hua asked. She laid on the blanket with her hands under her chin and fell asleep as the light autumn breeze gently blew the hairs around her beautiful face. Ye Hua took off his robe, covered her and watched her sleep for the rest of the afternoon.
