I’m not SuSu…..
Bai Qian smoothly with a single, graceful wave of her hand, and the thin, white, sheer material vanished from her eyes as quickly as it had appeared so their gazes locked again.
He couldn’t stop himself even if he tried but he never did. The thought of delayed hesitation never crossed his mind even once. The desperate need, the urgent pushing compulsion was overwhelming and simply out of his control. Wordlessly, Ye Hua tearfully embraced the miraculous image because for him, she was all he’d longed and prayed for during their countless years…157,680,000 minutes of unbearable separation.
The feel of her soft, feminine body so familiar wrapped in his yearning arms, made his body shiver and tremble in absolute recognition of her. Bai Qian’s entire being automatically stiffened from his touch but didn’t force him away, instead, her arms just hung limp and lifelessly beside her small figure.
Time, she gave it to him but it was a brief moment before politely but firmly pushing Ye Hua away. She smiled, but as before there wasn’t anything endearing or warm in her cool gaze as it was dispirited and somber only.
“I’m sorry to have shocked you but I heard you’ve finally put the Soul Gathering Lamp away, and took it as a sign that you’re ready to let SuSu go.” Bai Qian stated in a dispassionate tone with a blank expression on her face.
Ye Hua started to sob. He reached for her again but this time Bai Qian purposely stepped back. Swiftly opening her Jade Purity Fan, she lightly fanned herself but it was an intentional, purposeful move to create more distance between them.
Bai Qian attempted to explain herself and her aim to sound tender was forced when she said, “I know that you still care for me, well no, maybe not me but SuSu. And I thank you for holding on to her memory but things have changed and I’m not SuSu. I’m sorry but I don’t feel the same. My affections for you no longer exist and I don’t love you anymore.”
Her sharpen slicing words were hurtful like a vicious near-fatal cutting with a finely edged blade. They caused Ye Hua to flinch from the excruciating and torturous agony openly. He couldn’t conceal his affliction and sorrow. His penetrating eyes studied her lovely soft, expressive face and it was distinctly without a doubt SuSu but her cold eyes. Her guarded gaze belonged to somebody else unknown, and a complete stranger he was meeting for the very first time.
How far her soft voice sounded when she murmured, “Have a seat and glass of wine. Ye Hua, we have a lot to talk about.”
To be continued…
