Release me…..

Bai Qian~

It was quickly slipping away. Her existence, her presence, her being’s essence was fading away, and from the unknown beginning to the unexplained end, her life had been genuinely baffling and mystifying…

This singular sentiment was Bai Qian’s last reverie. Because never in a million years could she have imagined, or predicted that she would feel euphoric, even ecstatic to see SuJin’s face looming in her sights as she took her final breath. Even while slipping away into oblivion, Bai Qian recognized the blatant irony in the situation along with the apparent dark humor, and on all counts, it was most unexpected. However, by the unusual circumstances at hand, and at that critical moment for High Goddess Bai Qian, Ye Hua’s scornful side consort wasn’t her enemy but the archangel of compassion.

SuJin the bitter and resentful woman who had tried to murder her numerous times. The wicked love rival, who once caused the father of her son to blind her while she was pregnant, and despised Bai Qian perhaps more than anyone else in the world wasn’t her foe, but the angelic courier of the mercy that freed the Fox Queen from her torment, and suffering.

Her airy breathing flowed weakly from her lips. The gasp was the faintest of sighs rather than a full exhale, and she realized it was her last breath. Bai Qian happily closed her wearily eyes and willingly traveled to another place of everlasting calm, serenity, tranquillity. There waiting for her was heavenly release, sweet deliverance and blissful liberation.

Finally, after all the torture she’d endured, Bai Qian was free and all of her grieves, fears and pains faded away instantly before the radiantly lightened beam returned. The restoration of the illuminated hallway made her weep. She sobbed unending tears of profound relief that ran down her dirtied, blood and tear stained cheeks because it felt like sunshine. It was exactly like the sun.

The comforting, warming temperature of the day-star-like radiance tenderly encircled around her cold body. It offered relief after several long days of endless chill, while soaking and drinking in the cozy, pleasant heat, Bai Qian experienced a rushed charge of unexplained bliss, excitement and joy.

This sensation of happiness overwhelmed her and she couldn’t stop smiling. With a broad grin on her chapped, split, bloodied lips, radiantly she beamed at nothing and everything. Then like a lighthearted and carefree child, Bai Qian laughed as she let go. After a long existence of diligently recording, and calculating every detail of her frequently chaotic life, she unloaded all her many apprehensions, concerns and emotional baggage that had weighed her down.

Next impulsively, which was not typical of her tendency. Bai Qian without thought or delay or fretting, or calculating over who owed whom what. Regardless of the debts or grudges, she voluntarily, graciously, forgave, pardoned all and everyone who had ever wronged her. She excused everyone starting with her most damaging and adverse enemy, which was herself. She forgave herself of her confused and hurtful ways.

Before ultimately her many loves, heartbreaks, desires, grievances, joys, regrets, pleasures, sorrows, everything, Bai Qian laid it all down. She let go of everything and everyone, as she giggled euphorically with her arms outstretched high and reaching out, she rushed into the light.

Xuan Nu~

“Shut up! You don’t know anything! Ye Hua knows that I never did anything with Heavenly Lord. I married him to support Ye Hua! It was all for him! He knows I’m chaste, pure and saving myself for only him! I’m not a filthy old whore like you!”

Behind her, SuJin barked similar to a crazed and rabid, foam mouthed canine. The resentful Celestial snarling spewed out her malice, and hatred toward her love adversary, the Fox Queen. The racket made Xuan Nu laugh. It was ticklish. SuJin’s profound contempt for the High Goddess humored her. Especially since everyone worshiped and adored the Fox, it was genuinely delightful, and highly satisfying to meet someone who shared her hateful sentiments for her.

Xuan Nu thoughtfully examined the knives for sharpness in the far corner of the room. She scrutinized for the precise device to skin Bai Qian’s face off and snickered, while listening to SuJin have a complete mental breakdown like an insane woman… It was all laughter, fun and games until she heard an alarming faint gurgling sound coming from Bai Qian. Speedily Xuan Nu whipped around so quickly her crown fell off her head. The disturbing scene caused the Demon Queen to fly into an absolute fury, “What the hell are you doing!?”

The crazy Celestial had lost her mind, and was choking the remaining life out of the High Goddess. The Demon Queen roughly shoved the now deliriously laughing SuJin to the stony ground, and far away from the white Fox’s limp body before rushing to her. But to her dismay, horror and hysteria, it was already too late. The great Gugu was breathless, and her icy cold body was quickly turning the sickly shade of grayish blue-green, the color of death.

“I told you that I needed her alive! You stupid moronic bitch!” Xuan Nu exploded while frantically checking Bai Qian’s heavily bruised, deep dark purple neck for a pulse. “Nothing! There’s nothing!” The tumultuous sound of her angry outcries echoed, and repeated in the rocky cavern. “No, this can’t be happening!” She loudly bellowed before jumping directly on her lifeless body in a single leap.

With her most effective demon magic as she had successfully performed, during the previous times when the Fox departed. Xuan Nu attempted to revive Bai Qian with her most potent spell, but there wasn’t any reaction. She pulled the Nine-Tailed Fox’s closed eyes apart with such pressure that it reddened the delicate skin around her eyes, and shouted. “NO!” But there wasn’t any response in her still and nonreactive pupils. Next, with both hands, she brutally opened the High Goddess’s mouth wide, and vigorously blew giant puffs of air into her inert body, then pressed her ear to her mouth but there wasn’t any sound.

Sudden wrath overwhelmed her and clouded her vision. Xuan Nu couldn’t see straight due to her sheer panic and alarm. Blurry and hazy sighted, she magically unfastened all of Bai Qian’s chained limbs, because she couldn’t see the keyhole to unhitch the locks manually. Then since the Fox was unbound, Xuan Nu began chest compression. She frantically compressed above Bai Qian’s heart, while shocking her with demon sorcery.

It was a life or death situation. The need, the demand to revive and bring the Fox back to life was crucial. Nothing else mattered other than her child. The stakes were high. It was her son’s existence on the line. Gathering everything within her, Xuan Nu concentrated all her energy into the hurried pace, and flying speed of the continuous chest compression.

Soon, due to the sheer intensity of physical exertion, nervous perspiration poured from Xuan Nu’s hairline down her face causing her heavy eye makeup to run, and smear. Smokey black khol residue clouded her eyesight even more. She exerted all of her bodily strength and her arms were killing her, but she pumped Bai Qian’s quickly hardening chest with faster rhythmic pushes. All the while, the half-wit SuJin, the most useless excuse of an immortal deity, stared at her still clawed hands in sheer disbelief and continued to laugh wildly.

Xuan Nu wanted to kill SuJin.

Long thick, stringy strands of saliva flew wildly from her painted mouth, when the Demon Queen screamed, “Shut the hell up, you stupid cow! Do you realize what you’ve done!? I needed Bai Qian alive for my son!” Blood red lips curled back sharply exposing all her teeth. Xuan Nu full of ferocity shrieked enraged to see her most desired dream, the wish of awakening her dead child, vanish and dissipate before her very sight.

“SuJin! You’re next! I’m going to bleed you next and grind your bones into dust with my teeth…”  She snarled, until a tremendous pulsation of immortal energy surged from Bai Qian’s breathless body, abruptly interrupting Xuan Nu’s rage fueled tirade.

The immensely powerful palpitation of immortal cultivation, and life force flooded the chamber caused everything, and everyone in Bai Qian’s proximity to propel backward several feet with incredible force, and strength. Blinding, dazzling, blazing, the whitest of lights immersed the entire room, while the energy violently launched at an impossible velocity both SuJin, and Xuan Nu rearward along with every tables, chairs and any freestanding object.

Weapons flew uncontrollably in the air at high speed, before smashing against the granite walls of the torture chamber. After the unknown force tossed everything back, it firmly, forcefully pressed the women, and everything against the rocky surface to the point it was painful. Due to the incredible pressure and rough, coarse exterior of the wall, it was uncomfortable. It just held them there before an unexpected, and jarring release that left them crashing to the earthy ground.

Xuan Nu swiftly plummeted to the ground and spat the flowing blood from her mouth, but the steely metallic aftertaste lingered on her tongue. “What the hell was that?” She moaned in pain but SuJin failed to respond, because she was passed out cold in the opposing corner of the room. However, the moronic Celestial being unconscious, or dead wasn’t a matter of importance because Xuan Nu couldn’t believe her eyes.

On the cold marble table, in a small circle of almost colorless flicking flames with her slender shoulders slumped over, and shaved head hanging forward, it was Bai Qian. Posturing, she knelt on one bloodied knee with one burned to blacken foot securely set on the hard tabletop. Both her flat palms were firmly planted on each side of her broken and injured body. Xuan Nu watched in silent horror as the High Goddess pushed off her hands, and gradually brought herself to standing.

Now that she was steadily upright. Deliberately and keenly Bai Qian scanned her surroundings with hard, deadened, blackened eyes and her ominous gaze conjured images of lifeless, cold, dead, decayed things in Xuan Nu’s mind. It was unnerving– the High Goddess’s dead but piercing stare. The Demon Queen had to clamp her hand over her mouth to stifle her urge to shriek from rage, and fear because the image unfolding before her sight was impossible.

However, impossible or not, there stood the deceased woman right before her eyes.

Bai Qian posed regally like the Royal Fox Queen she was, while a mysterious white hued fire surrounding her body, licked up her bruised, bloodied legs and thighs with its fiery tongue-like tips like a ravenous lover. She was immune to the scorching heat that Xuan Nu could sense from several feet away.

The High Goddess without any expression to betray her thoughts remained silent, and hesitated until she finally meets eyes with her torturer. Xuan Nu’s startled and trembling gaze locked with the woman she believed was dead. And if that fact wasn’t disturbing enough, the mighty Fox Queen playfully winked at her childhood friend and said, “Xuan Nu, how can I close my eyes in peace while there’s still a possible threat to my baby?”

The throaty tone of speech coming from Bai Qian was full of bass, low and deep saturated in fierceness with a definite edge of warning. The ominous pitch of her voice alone made Xuan Nu’s rapidly coursing blood turn to icy cold. However, the grim picture that accompanied the hair raising sound was further dread inducing, and intimidating.

She was emaciated from the week long ordeal and bald. Her bloodied, wounded body was covered in blisters or blackened from burning, but she was still gorgeous. The week of torture didn’t affect her confidence. Bai Qian was superior as ever, as she stood gloriously nude with her shaven head held high, and her thin but shapely legs set slightly apart.

Xuan Nu collapsed to her hands and knees. She couldn’t stand. Her trembling legs gave out on her due to the loss of strength throughout her entire body, and she had to remind herself to breathe. Though, she engulfed in the air sharply in fright when without emotion, Bai Qian leaped high with graceful dexterity from the table. Her landing was balanced, perfectly smooth as she steadily stood on the cold ground, and looked down her nose at Xuan Nu.

The deafening silence between them was thick, dense with swiftly rising, intensifying tension until the Celestial woke up, and shrieked deliriously to recognize her old nemesis risen from the dead. SuJin’s loud hysterical and continuous screaming filled the quiet space. It was then Bai Qian did something that blew Xuan Nu’s mind, and made her fully realize that she’d offended the wrong person.

Bai Qian without any other bodily movements, not even her gaze wavered. It was a slight flick of her lift wrist. Nothing more than just a flick. The graceful, even elegant hand gesture was so subtle when she without glancing behind her, used magic to propel the three feet long pointy metal spikes that had held her chains toward Ye Hua’s second wife.

The spiked spears were heavy and each was the size of a grown man’s fist. They flew like the wind so swiftly, Xuan Nu couldn’t follow them but they found their mark precisely. She realized they had hit the intended target because SuJin bellowed in agony, and fright when one lethal spike penetrated through her left shoulder. The additional second tip pierced through her right forearm. The third deadly dart stabbed through her right upper thigh close to her groin, but purposely avoiding her main artery. And the last spear, Bai Qian deliberately aimed one inch from SuJin’s face. The close call left its signature, and promptly she had a new angry burn mark from the metal grazing her cheek.

The giant sharpened spikes impaled, and trapped the Celestial to the granite surface behind her. SuJin screamed bloody murder, howled in misery then screeched insanely, and continuously from the unbearable pain of the piercings. She wailed her head off until Bai Qian stood directly before her, and there was a strained silence between them.

SuJin’s scared widened eyes shook with fear. However, the wavering was momentary, because the Fox without warning tore her eyes from SuJin’s head, and spoke matter of factually when she said, “I’ve turned a new leaf but you’ll have to excuse me. Old habit die hard.” Then she growled in a low and deep menacing voice, “Be quiet, SuJin. If you keep screaming, Ye Hua’s Side Consort, you leave me no other choice but to tear your tongue out with my teeth.”

She gnarled her warning and there was a genuine danger behind her threat. To show her sincerity, Bai Qian deliberately parted her lips, languidly licked across the two massive sharp canines that magically appeared, and now protruded from her mouth. She pressed the sharpened teeth against SuJin’s wet bloodied cheek, breathed heavily through her mouth, and rubbed the spiked canines on the Celestial’s face. The sharp dagger fangs were not of Fox. They were too beastly monstrous to be of Fox, and the feel alone scared SuJin into silence, as she currently only whimpered pathetically.

The gigantic fanged teeth vanished as quickly as they had appeared with a diminutive wave of Bai Qian’s fingertips. “I sealed your Fox magic! You’re dead! You stopped breathing!” Xuan Nu yelled while feeling as if she were losing her mind. Her blackened eyeliner and mascara smudged eyes bulged, protruded out as she screamed in utter disbelief. “It’s impossible! You can’t cast spells! I sealed your Fox magic!”

Once again, Xuan Nu noted, the high temperature from the colorless flames around her was scorching. Although, Bai Qian didn’t seem affected by the heat as it accompanied, touched and followed all her bodily movements as if it were a part of her. The Fox’s naturally feminine voice was thick, hoarse from her crushed esophagus, as she declared full of pride with one hand proudly resting her lower abdomen.

“Does this look like Fox magic to you, Xuan Nu? It’s Dragon magic. And you and I, my old friend, have some unsettled business between us that needs resolution.” Bai Qian declared, before the High Goddess pointed her index finger toward the entrance of the water torture chamber. The soaring blaze immediately obeyed her wish, and sealed off the doorway with an impenetrable wall of fire leaving the women locked together.

Bai Qian~

It was a bit annoying that her torturer was so weak. Who was this feeble pathetic woman on her knees, gawking up at Bai Qian’s naked body, and what had she done with the Demon Queen, who threatened to chop up her baby? The mere recall of Xuan Nu’s intimidation caused Bai Qian to shake with pent-up wrath, as she advanced towards the diabolical she-devil with a dangerous gleam in her dark eyes.

It was with planned deliberation when Bai Qian suspended her footsteps, after reaching the distance of three feet away from her. She wanted to give the Demon Queen some room to use her lame Demon magic. It wouldn’t be interesting if Xuan Nu, the wicked agent of torture, gave in without a genuine struggle and… And Bai Qian was speedily growing weary. Unbeknownst to her foe, she didn’t have much magic remaining in her and it was time to pull, gather all her resources, everything within her to settle matters.

Permanently.

“You did seal my Fox magic. Although, you overlooked something and failed to seal my baby’s Dragon magic.” Bai Qian’s hoarse, and throaty whiskey voice had a sensuous appeal particularly in comparison to Xuan Nu’s harsh screeching, “It’s nothing but a damn fetus! It’s not even the size of a speck of dust yet! How can a baby have such powerful magic!? It’s JUST a fetus!”

Xuan Nu’s ignorant comment was laughable. However, it also provoked her temper, and Bai Qian’s furious booming roar suddenly thundered over the Demon Queen’s loud yelling, when she growled, “Just a fetus!? No, it’s not just a fetus! My child is a direct descendant of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother! The oldest immortal blood runs through my baby’s veins!” Bai Qian’s weakening stance wavered, and she stumbled before the last word left her lips. The heated conversation was consuming more strength than she wanted to use. She focused on centering and calmed herself to finish what she had started.

Bai Qian summoned the Jade Purity Fan.

The exquisite jade scrolled fan, her fated weaponry of choice magically appeared in the palm of her right hand. And at the same time, Bai Qian magically beckoned the now full blood packed ruby stone that was dangling in the air to her. The jewel acknowledged her beckoning summons, and rushed to her as Xuan Nu screamed in wrath. “Bai Qian, give me the Fox blood! That’s mine! I need it!”

“You want this Fox blood, Xuan Nu? Alright, I’ll give it to you. Catch.” Bai Qian ridiculed before she allowed the stone to smash to the ground. It shattered on impact instantly against the metal bars over drowning tanks underneath their feet. Thick, viscous blood spattered everywhere along with fragments of the crystal glass container. There wasn’t anything left of the maroon gem but the dark, opaque hemoglobin oozed and seeped into the water container below.

“No! I need that for my baby!” The Demon Queen cried as she thrust herself against the alloy poles, while frantically attempting to collect the fluid remnants of the now free flowing thick liquid with her bare hands. Her desperate efforts were in vain. The remaining liquid continued to run and spread, before leaking below in large droplets off the bars. “Bai Qian! You stupid bitch! Now all the precious Fox blood is gone! What about my poor son!? You can’t use it either to save yourself!”

Xuan Nu groaned while gripping the metal rails helplessly with stiffened white knuckles. With teary swollen eyes, she watched in hopelessness as the blood droplets dispersed in the water below, before rushing to her feet to cast her weak Demon magic at Bai Qian. It was a feeble attempt of a spell and even in her current weakened condition, she merely blocked it with her extended fan. The Demon magic dispersed like nothing at all.

Finally, she glanced down at the fan tenderly, privately thanked it for following her lead and requested it to serve her one last time. In the center of Bai Qian’s open palm, the fully unfolded Jade Purity Fan vibrated, shook and jumped with swiftly mounting energy, as she began to mouth the spell to end everything.

Silently she mouthed the magical words until the last verse of the incantation, Bai Qian paused and her faint voice revealed her real fatigue. She whispered, “I don’t need the Fox blood. It’s too late for me.” Her bloodless body caused her skin to appear ghostly white. She hesitated, took the deepest breath she could and spoke faintly, “Xuan Nu, I only have enough magic to initiate the Jade Purity Fan into movement to advance, but I won’t be able to control it after that.”

“Meaning, I’m going to die and unfortunately for you, Xuan Nu, I’ve decided to take you with me.” The fully stimulated fan hopped, and vibrated with immortal strength in Bai Qian’s trembling palm. Beaming with a genuine smile, the last of the spell she recited as she met Xuan Nu’s frightened and wavering gaze. The High Goddess whispered, “I’ll see you in hell.”

Promptly, the Jade Purity Fan obeyed Bai Qian’s magic, served her command and did what it was designed by Mo Yuan to do. The phosphorescent fan tore from her hand, traveling quicker than the speed of light and slew Xuan Nu the Demon Queen. Where she had stood, there was now only a small vapor of black smoke rising from the Demon’s final standing place.

Everything occurred within a blink of the eye, in seconds but time moved in slow motion for Bai Qian. A sense of pride swelled, washed over her as she witnessed her beautiful jade fan detect, destroy its target with deadly accuracy and now it was returning to its master.

Bai Qian’s blurry sight followed the scorching blaze, as the fiery current darted toward her. The sweltering temperature from the broad spectrum of blinding energy rushing to her, flamed all her facial hair such as her eyebrows and lashes. And the distinct odor of burning hair was sickening.

The Jade Purity Fan was now mere inches away. Tears poured down her heated stinging face, as she tenderly placed one loving hand on her lower abdomen, smiled, and the other hand reached up heavenward. High Goddess Bai Qian, the Fox Queen whispered, “Release me.”
