報復 Bàofù IV: Crossroads: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms Fanfiction Ch 3

The small distance between the doorway of Bai Qian’s bedchamber, and her bed was a well-traveled path Mo Yuan frequently paced in quiet reflection, when he couldn’t decompress. This evening it was the newest allegations from Ye Hua’s side consort, Sujin, that ran through his troubled mind weighing tremendously on his heavy heart.

She was the only remaining witness to what occurred, during Bai Qian’s week long abduction. The latest accounts from her were disturbing enough that they had to pause the trial twice for Bai Zhi to seek medical attention, and he wasn’t the only one affected by the nauseating descriptions. Nearly everyone present was sickened especially Ye Hua who appeared blanched, ghostly as if he were going to be ill.

Her testimony went against Zhe Yan’s medical findings. Though whether it was accurate or not, it was still painful to listen to Sujin declaring Bai Qian was bodily, emotionally and sexually violated repeatedly by the horde of demons. The explicit accounts she gave of their evil deeds were exceedingly gruesome, and inhumanly shocking to hear.

Sujin also changed her previous testimony of performing alone, and currently alleged Heavenly Lord and Ye Hua were not merely active participants. However, they were the masterminds behind all the horrors that befell SuSu, and Bai Qian during her abduction.

The indictment which was supposed to be uncomplicated had taken an unforeseen shift for the unfavorable quickly turning into a spectacle with Heavenly Lord, and Ye Hua’s honor and reputations at stake. Everyone was clamoring, and denying any involvement except Ye Hua who said nothing to defend himself. Those who didn’t know him considered his silence as callous indifference, even heartless disinterest but Mo Yuan knew better. His younger brother was grief stricken, resigned to receive his due punishments for the guilt he still carried in his heart from blinding SuSu, and remorse Ye Hua accepted for Bai Qian suffering while she was with him.

Ye Hua was currently grounded under house arrest in his palace until the verdict, and all he desired was to be at Bai Qian’s side. It was true that Mo Yuan wanted to separate him from her, but he never wished such damaging foul play on his twin.

“Mo Yuan, can I have a word with you?” Bai Zhi had that hardened expression on his face, and Mo Yuan noticed how worn he appeared. His old friend, the Fox Emperor, was concerned that Mo Yuan wouldn’t be able to judge with impartiality, since it was his twin’s well-being and career on the line. There had been some talks of stripping Ye Hua of his title as the Crown Prince, and sending him into exile. Along with some suggesting the removal of his eyes and death sentence.

Mo Yuan firmly held his hands behind his back and met Bai Zhi by the doorway, “Yes.”

“I understand you’re in a difficult position but Ye Hua must be held accountable, judged fairly and if he’s guilty, he must pay for his crimes. It would be a blessing if Bai Qian awoke without any memories of him, or her ordeal.” Bai Zhi stressed before shoving his long pipe back between his teeth. Billows of white smoke drifted overhead from his nervous smoking, “Mo Yuan, they sexually defiled my daughter, and what if Ye Hua did play a role in her kidnapping?”

“Ye Hua had nothing to do with my kidnapping. He did nothing wrong! He loves me and would never hurt me. And I wasn’t sexually defiled! I remember everything. Why is this being discussed?” Bai Qian’s whispered soft but angry voice carried to their conversation from her bed, where she was sitting upright.

After nearly four months in a comatose state, Bai Qian was conscious and the first person she asked for was Ye Hua. She turned to her teary eyed fiancé, Mo Yuan, and said, “I want Ye Hua. Shifu, where is he?”
